Loopring is a Layer-2 scaling platform that turns Ethereum into a high-speed, low-fee trading arena. Loopring combines zkRollup proofs, an order-book plus AMM DEX, and a smart-contract wallet so users keep custody while moving assets in milliseconds. Loopring lowers gas so DeFi, staking and NFT actions stay cheap. The LRC coin secures exchanges, fuels burns, unlocks staking rewards and steers the DAO treasury.
Loopring raised about $45 M in its August 2017 ICO but refunded ~80 % after China’s ban, keeping ~$10 M. A $5 M private seed round in January 2018 from NGC, Kosmos Ventures and others topped up the treasury. No new token sales since; development has been funded by that capital plus rising asset value.

Loopring’s contracts use zkSNARK proofs and enforced data availability. Audits from Blockchain at Berkeley, SECBIT and Least Authority back the code, while a live Immunefi bounty guards upgrades. After a 2024 guardian exploit, guardian flow was rebuilt and multisig controls hardened.
